About Us
Mabuhay and Welcome to the celebration of Philippine Days! Philippine Days Festival Society serves to create a God-inspired, active, strong and productive Filipino Canadian Community in British Columbia through quality events and programs that are informative, educational, entertaining and are family-centered activities. Our Guiding light: “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1Peter 4:10 NIV
Now in British Columbia
This year 2024, Philippine Days presents the British Columbia version of the largest gathering of Filipino Canadians in all of Canada. This is the TASTE OF MANILA, the festival of festivals which, in 2023, celebrated its 10th year in Toronto ON with an unprecedented attendance of over 500,000!
The Society
PHILIPPINE DAYS FESTIVAL SOCIETY is a duly registered nonprofit society under the Societies Act of British Columbia, with Registration No. S-0076916. The Society organized and managed the annual Philippine Days Festival event, celebrating the Filipino Cultural Heritage, and the commemoration of the declaration of Philippine Independence – from 2006-2019 at the Waterfront Park of North Vancouver. Taking a 3-year hiatus from the celebration from 2020-2022, PDFS brought back this signature celebration of the Filipino Community of BC in 2023, only this time it was held at the Shipyards of North Vancouver, when the park no longer became available for celebrations.
Our Mandate
Our Mission
PHILIPPINE DAYS FESTIVAL SOCIETY is committed to providing the general public with meaningful events and activities which will serve to preserve, promote, and share the Filipino culture, customs, arts, values and traditions.
Our Vision
Through these festival celebrations, we hope to learn and discover the uniqueness and commonalities between various ethnic origins, recognize the significance of each cultural identity, and celebrate the diverse tapestry of customs, traditions and values towards the creation of a ONE CANADIAN identity.
Goals
To train and develop future Community leaders to pass on this commitment from generation to generation of Filipino Canadians, that we may continue to express and share our unique artistic expressions, customs, practices, and inherent values geared towards excellence and productivity as a people.
